At Shaklee, the safety and efficacy of our products is our most important concern. Product quality is the hallmark of our integrity, and as part of our standard quality program, we test both the raw materials and each and every lot of finished product, to ensure that our strict standards have been met, and to screen for potential contaminants.
Consider the example of Shaklee's flagship Vita-LeaŽ with Iron. Vita-Lea contains 43 different raw materials, each of which has a separate Shaklee Specification. We obtain 3 lots of each material product and test thoroughly during its development. These tests include a review of supplier tests, our own testing for heavy metals such as lead and cadmium, microbiological testing and testing for irradiation and pesticide residues. The supplier must agree to follow the Shaklee Chemical Impurity Standards program. Shaklee requires and conducts 397 individual quality tests on the ingredients that go into each and every new production of Vita-Lea. After conducting all these tests throughout development and initial manufacturing, Shaklee conducts 209 tests on the 43 ingredients in Vita-Lea every time the product is manufactured. Then we conduct an additional 152 tests on an annual basis to continue to certify each and every raw material. Of course, we also test each and every lot of finished product as well, to absolutely guarantee the purity, safety and efficacy of our products.
We remind you of these standards so that you can assure your customers that Shaklee quality is both unwavering and effective. Both the raw materials and the finished product for each product are tested and proven safe for you.
